Phinda Private Game Reserve is home to six magnificent lodges, each with its own individual charm and character.  There is also a Walking Safari Camp where guests are accommodated in luxurious tents with en suite facilities - a comfortable base for exhilarating explorations of the Reserve on foot.

Mountain Lodge:  With wraparound views of the bushveld below, punctuated by the undulating profile of the Ubombo Mountain range, Mountain Lodge is a dramatic and exciting safari destination.  Twenty spacious suites crest the mountain with raptors eye view of the Reserve.  Exchange stories of the days game viewing in the sitting room with its great vaulted ceiling and enormous fireplace, or birdwatch from the loungers on the pooldeck.  Enjoy a delicious array of lunch dishes, or sample sumptuous Pan African cuisine in the dramatic stone and reed boma with an umbrella of stars arching above.  Each suite at Mountain Lodge has a private sitting room and expansive viewing deck, making it difficult to ever leave its seductive comfort.  But leave you must for the various adventures on the Reserve are as irresistible as the smiles on the faces of Mountain Lodges warm and welcoming staff.

Rock Lodge:  Set into a cliff face overlooking spectacular Leopard Rock, Rock Lodge is an architectural fascination combining Malian influences with pueblo panache.  Six contoured stone and adobe suites are seemingly suspended over the deep valley below, with solid wooden shutters and doors opening onto a private plunge pool at eye level with the soaring eagles.  Outdoor showers provide some of the most scenic al fresco bathing on the African continent, and private sitting areas ar a comfortable vantage point for viewing the abundant birdlife in the trees surrounding the lodge, and the animals in the valley below.  At the intimate Rock Lodge, delicious meals are shared with fellow safari adventurers who rapidly become friends and staff treat you like treasured members of their family. 

Forest Lodge:  The sixteen stilted suites hand built by local artisans, have a minimal footprint on the forest floor.  Inventively designed in what is often called Zulu Zen style, the suites illuminated at twilight resemble exquisite Oriental jewel boxes with african accents.  Decorated in minimal style with maximum flair, they feature richly tactile fabrics, high gloss wooden floors, and colourful zulu artefacts.  Between thrilling game drives, cool off in the sparkling rim flow pool with its panoramic view of game filled plains as you idly wonder what sumptuous Pan African fare will be served for dinner in the boma, illuminated by dozens of candles and lanterns and attended by the friendly and hospitable Forest Lodge staff. 

Vlei Lodge: Fringing Phindas unique vlei (wetland) system at the edge of the Sand Forest, Vlei Lodge is a study in intimacy and integration with the environment.  Six elegant and exclusive thatched suites overlook the vlei, where you are likely to see herds of grazing antelope, zebra and a dazzling variety of birdlife.  Relax in your private plunge pool and watch the drama of the wilderness unfold on your very doorstep as the primeval pulse of Africa provides the impetus for the daily cycle of the wild.

Zuka Lodge:  Phinda's newest lodge consists of just four charming thatched Zululand bush cottages.  Surrounded by densely wooded hills studded with aloes, Zuka Lodge affords an entirely new experience at Phinda.  As an exclusive use lodge, it includes a private ranger and host, tracker, butler and chef and sole use of a 4 x 4 safari vehicle.  This allows guests to tailor make their safari adventure.

Getty Lodge:  The four spacious suites feature unique sliding panel windows framing the beautiful views and infuse a contemporary Zulu vernacular on the ambience.  An interactive kitchen allows for intimate informal dining and a rim flow pool provides for respite during the heat of the day.  Guests will plan their preferred safari programme with their private ranger which includes morning, day and night game drives in open 4 x 4 game viewing vehicles with the Big Five wilderness being interpreted by your expert professional ranger.

Phinda Walking Safaris:  Set on the edge of the rare Sand Forest is the intimate Phinda Walking Safaris Camp. With just four ensuite tents, a guest sitting room under canvas and delectable alfresco dining, this charming camp affords guests all comforts in the heart of the African bush.  With an expert ranger, guests enjoy daily four to five hour morning walks and short pre sunset walks and night drive combinations on these intimate close up safaris.  Comfortable beds, soft pillows and duvets, en suite hot bucket showers and flush wcs, hearty brunches, delicious dinners round the fire, superlative service and expert rangers and trackers provide the high standards that guests have come to expect from CC Africas Walking Safaris.  These safaris are 3 night, 4 day adventures starting every Monday and Friday.
